Ms. Anita Lacoste was lucky, the one that received the sewing machine at Schmulen's Rucket store last Monday.

Mr. John Hungerford, a substantial citizen of Lake Arthur, was in Lafayette, Tuesday.

Mr. Aug Ledoux left for New Iberia where he will be employed in O'Bries groceries store.

Dr. and Mrs. FE Girard arrived Thursday from their bridal tour in Texas.

Mr. JG Parkerson Jr., and wife, of San Antonio, spent the holidays with their parents, Judge and Mrs. JG Parkerson.

Bishop ER Hendrix will dedicate --- Methodist Church at Lafayette on --- 5th 1898 at 11 o'clock a.m. The [pub]lic is cordially invited.

Mr. A Lacour and daughter Mar--line of Avoyelles parish spent the holiday with Mr. E Lacour's family. Miss Marceline Lacour will enter the Convent of Mount Carmel next week.
